Skyline World Record Attempt

The idea started back in 2006, with the announcement from GTROC to get every Skyline Owner together for a one off display.  It was run with the co-operation of various clubs having a total of 108 Skylines out on track but unfortunately nothing was ever officially recorded.

The idea was put forward about a repeat performance of Skylines doing a parade but this time would be hosted by one club only – Skylineowners.com.  Maccer (Ian McTeague) made the suggestion  of contacting the Guinness World Records and going for a world record and to try and get as many Skylines together on track at anyone time.

Keith Hammond (club owner) thought that this would be a great idea to promote a fantastic club and to also promote the work for charity that the club does.  Keith decided to make the challenge even more exclusive by doing this through one club only.  This would mean a truly special World Record Attempt.

There are no current world records for an event of this type using the Nissan Skyline, therefore the club is in a very unique and special position, to host a very special attempt on a prestigious award.  With the links to International and Global Sub forums within the club it will help unite all club members and owners as a whole.

Recently the club lost a very dear friend and member due to a medical condition leading to him passing away at a very early age.  The club has decided to promote the charity the British Heart Foundation on the day, in memory of Mr Lee Waldie (Katiered).  At Present the club have a total of 260 cars that will be attending ISTS with numbers being added everyday.  Not only that but with regard to the stand on Sunday 11th April, it will be the biggest collection of Skylines together at any one time.  All vehicles will be on display for the public with the opportunity for the public to look round every type of Skyline and maybe even get the chance to sit in the cars (with the owners permission) to complete a truly memorable experience culminating with being able to watch history being made at the same time with all Skyline doing their two laps of honour.
