With an attendance of more than 50,000 over the weekend (5,000 of which camp on site) the show is officially the biggest modified car show in the country (and one of the largest in Europe). So what’s happening in 2008?:

Super Car Loop:
Held on the Melbourne Loop and unique to the show the Super Car Loop is available to anyone 17 years and over with a full licence. Cars available include a Lamborghini Gallardo, 911 Turbo, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Ferrari 360 and more. Bookings are now being taken but call 01775 768661 for further details. Public Track Time brought to you by KW Automotive
When there isn’t drifting and time attack taking place visitors can book their cars on the famous Donington Park Circuit, clubs with 20 or more cars can even book exclusive track sessions! Gumball 3000 The Gumballers are set to return for 2008 (a 3rd year for the Drivers of this incredible race). Expect to see some fantastic cars on display and on the track over the weekend. Last year saw a Zebra Painted Carrera, several Ferrari 360 Modena’s and a rare Ultima in bright orange. There will be thrills and spills when these drivers get on track!

UK’s Biggest ICE Village (In-Car Entertainment)
Forget the rest – the ICE Village at ISTS is the biggest and loudest of any event. Packing out the pits at Donington a host of manufacturers compete for the attention of the huge crowds. Alpine will be exhibiting their stunning BMW Sinister 6 direct from the USA, others attending include Autoleads, Mutant, Focal, Fusion, Vibe and many more. Also new to the show EMMA will be hosting the Sound Challenge at this years show – its gonna be loud!!!!

Auto Glym Best in Britain Competition: The Auto Glym Best in Britain returns this year at the heard of the show in the Paddock Suite. Visitors will see the best new vehicles in the market for the first time at ISTS . All forms of styling are welcome and last years winner was a Classic Ford Escort Cabriolet, completely rebuilt for 2007 with incredible Clarion install with 6 tv’s, white and blue leather interior, custom designed body kit, Raven Hydraulics, and 18’’ Chrome Rims. Track action is a huge part of ISTS and the first rounds of both the European Drift Championship (EDC) and Time Attack series will be held. Also Time Attack will see more entries than ever before with the new 'Club Championship' class competing for the first time at the event.

Cream Party Night
For campers the big news this year is our Party Night is hosted by the leading club brand ‘Cream’ with appearances from DJ Tall Paul and K Class. Held on the Saturday night in our new Circus Big Top there will also be an extreme fun fair and adult entertainment marquee nearby. The entertainment has also been moved nearer to the campsite.

National Car Club Championship – Club Awards ISTS attracts more than 80 clubs and over 2,000 car entries and this years clubs will be entered into the National Car Club Championship. The best club stands will share £1,750 of prize money up for grabs (£1000 top prize for the best club stand at the show). There will also be prizes for the best club cars on display over the weekend. Book now to confirm your entry!

Day Tickets
Day Tickets are now available £18 for adults in advance and £22 on the day. Children are just £5.

Super Car Loop – Latest News

Based on the Melbourne Loop section of Donington Park and organised by Driving Sensation.  There will be 5 cars, which are available to ride in as a passenger or to drive yourself. They are Lotus Elise, Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari 360, Lamborghini Gallardo and Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Each driver / passenger will get 3 laps in the car regardless of whether they drive or ride.

Drivers should be 17 years upwards and must be able to produce their license on the day. (Strictly no alcohol may be consumed before driving). The Super Car Loop takes place on the Melbourne Loop section of the Donington Park circuit

Prices start from £25.00 depending on the car.

Car Stats:

Ferrari 360 convertible - 3.5 litre V8, developing approx 400bhp. 0-62mph in approx 4.5 seconds and capable of 186mph

Aston Martin V8 Vantage - 4.3 litre V8 developing 380 bhp and capable of 175 mph. 0-62mph in 5 seconds

Porsche 911 Turbo – 3.6 litre twin turbo flat 6 developing 420 bhp, 0-62mph in 4.2 secs, 189mph

Lamborghini Gallardo - 5 litre, V10, almost 200mph, 0-60 in 4seconds

Lotus Elise - 1.8 litre 4 cylinder but weighs under 700kg allowing 0-62mph in only 5.9 seconds, constantly voted best handling car
